is it saturday yet?

I am sure by now that a lot of you have heard of Kate Spade's new Saturday line. As they state it, this line puts "...our own spin on casual, we're channeling the carefree spirit of the weekend and bringing it to every day of the week with smart silhouettes, honest fabrics, and a sense of spontaneity." After looking through the website, they nailed it! Everything in this line is just plain fun. The colors are bright and the classic Kate Spade style is there. I put together my current favorites from this line below.

1. Six Pocket Tee @ $50
2. Tall Glasses @ $30 for 4 glasses
4. Foldover Bag @ $180
5. iPhone Case @ $25
6. Two-For-One Ring @ $15
7. Wanderer Sunnies @ $60

Have you all made any purchases yet or have any favorites?

One of my favorite aspects of the new line is that you can create your own weekender bag. Saturday offers a lot of weekender bags, but being able to create your own is so much fun. This is the one I created... such a cool concept!

These Rebecca Taylor bleached denim shorts are incredible. They are perfect for summer and the bleached denim aspect is so fun. They also look 100x more comfortable than standard denim shorts. I will be looking for these to go on sale! PS: If you click the link, you will be able to get a better view and vibe of the shorts. There are a lot of intricate details that were not captured in this photo.

In honor of the return of Nashville tonight, my favorite entertainment for the week is the former lovebirds Rayna Jaymes and Deacon Clayborne. They obviously belong together and now that Rayna is getting a divorce, I hope they rekindle their romance!

This shirt is amazing. It is so intricate and detailed and provides a great contrast to the classic leather jacket and jeans. The jewelry also matches the shirt perfectly. Pairing a unique top with classic items works so well. I could stare at this shirt all day!

Favorite Interior

I chose this image as this week's favorite interior because there is something about the bedding that I love. I have been on the hunt for new bedding recently and I love the minimalist vibe of this. It would honestly match anything in the room and would work for men or women.

((mango margarita + adorable mermaid, which I need to find a way to buy!))

The week after vacation is always a drag. You wish you were back at the beach relaxing, but instead you're in the office while it's freezing outside... wah wah (Debbie Downer over here!). Although I wish I was still beaching it, when we went home we got to celebrate my mom's birthday and my sister was still in town. We indulged in sweets and treats (still in relaxation mode). Now if only spring would actually make an appearance, I could get over the fact that my vacation is over!

My mom's birthday was a few days after we got back from St. Thomas. We went out to dinner at a nice seafood and sushi restaurant to celebrate. I will admit that the sushi quality was comparable to St. Thomas! I recently had purchased this sleeveless blouse, but since the weather refuses to warm up I decided to wear it as a vest instead. I liked the idea and I am now wondering if I have any other tops that can be worn this way. I will be wearing this shirt as a vest until we see some warmer temperatures around here!

PS: I am loving my new Jawbone Up band. You can learn about what it does here. I am still learning how to use it, but it is showing me that I do not move at all during the work day and I need to get better sleep! Work in progress over here!

These Keyhole Slingback wedges from Anthropologie are amazing. I love the unique wedge and the peep toe, slingback style. These are perfect for the warm weather that I am praying is coming soon. These are such a staple item since they can literally be worn with every outfit whether it be fancy or more casual. I think I need to make the purchase!

The Good Wife is one of my favorite shows on TV these days. I love the pairing of Will and Alicia, so the flashback scenes in the last episode to when they were a couple were very much appreciated. Alicia should say goodbye to Peter and hello to Will (permanently!).

Julianne Hough's casual, cool outfit is right up my alley. I love her booties mixed with the moto jacket and casual shorts. This is an outfit that is easy to pull together, but looks very polished. The single life is definitely working for her!

stowaways: st. thomas (part 2)

((infinity pool overlooking the ocean))

I had so many photos from our beach getaway to St. Thomas that I had to do two stowaways posts for the week. I love looking at the photos and reliving the amazing time we had. Cue warm weather, clear skies, sand, and margaritas!

stowaways: st. thomas (part 1)

((crystal clear water in St. Thomas))

After hearing me talk about my trip to St. Thomas for weeks, it is about time I posted some photos from it! The trip was absolutely fantastic. The weather was ideal (sunny and 80 degrees) and I got a much needed tan. You can't get much better than spending time in the Caribbean on the beach with family. We spent our days on the beach sipping tropical cocktails (amazing!). In between relaxing, we went on a catamaran tour to snorkel as well as did some ocean kayaking and paddle boarding. This trip made me never want to leave the beach and now I cannot wait for summer!

packing for the trip

I am such a procrastinator when it comes to packing. I wait until the last second to pack and end up scurrying to get everything together in time. Packing for St. Thomas was no exception. I bought a few new essentials (i.e. bathing suits and sunscreen) for the trip, so I had to make sure those were not forgotten during my packing process. I wish I had purchased all of these goodies, though! I also had to make sure I had everything necessary in my carry-on to ensure I wasn't bored out of my mind on the plane. I do need to come up with a better packing system, however. Any suggestions would be very welcome!

First up was making sure I did not forget the items above. Packing these was of paramount importance! I bought two new swimsuits for the trip: an O'Neill bikini from South Moon Under and an Xhilaration strapless bikini from Target (you can never go wrong with a bathing suit from Target!). I repurposed an old Banana Republic dress to use as a cover-up. Lastly, I could not forget my sunscreen!

Packing my carry-on was also highly important. I made sure to pack some reading materials to ensure I did not get too bored on the flight as well as items that I wanted to have easy access to at all times. Some important items I stored in my favorite Feed bag were some old magazines I had not had the time to read yet, a beach read, my Style Mint sunglasses, Coach wristlet for cash and ID's, hair ties and headbands, cell, iPod, and miscellaneous beauty items (how cute is that little Vaseline?!).

I made sure to pack my absolute favorite sunscreen from Yes To. I love that their products are almost 100% natural, so I know that I am putting something safe on my body. I used the Yes To Cucumbers sunscreen on my body, the Yes To Blueberries facial moisturizer, and the Yes to Carrots lip sunscreen. They all worked beautifully! This is my go-to brand for beauty products and I especially gravitate towards their offerings with SPF. I would recommend this brand to anyone. PS: This is the view from our balcony in St. Thomas!

Another favorite sunscreen line of mine is Sun Bum (seen here). This mango lip sunscreen is perfect and "tastes" delicious. I can never resist mango! This lip balm was SPF 30, which I used for the more intense heat of the day since the Yes To lip sunscreen was only SPF 15.

Do you all have any favorite sunscreen brands or any products you need to take on vacation? Favorite swimsuit line? I am definitely in need of a new bathing suit cover-up, so suggestions are welcome! Would my airplane ride be more enjoyable if I packed something else in my carry-on? Let me know!

turtleneck stripes

((J. Crew turtleneck sweater, Juicy Couture trousers, Michele watch, Coach ring, Tiffany & Co. mesh ring, Banana Republic leather ballet flats))

I cannot remember the last time I wore a turtleneck sweater. I recently wore this J. Crew top that I got as a gift to work and now I don't know why I waited so long to bring this trend back into my life. Turtlenecks are beyond cozy and are a great alternative to a sweater and scarf on these insanely cold days. They are also very chic and comfortable for the office. You can never go wrong with stripes and the elbow patches are fun. This turtleneck is definitely a winter staple of mine, especially at work where my office is sub zero!

Ignore my slept-in/ messy hair!

This House of Harlow skull and pearl cuff bracelet is edgy and very cool. I have been on a skull kick these days and love all jewelry with skulls on it. Don't ask me why! This skull makes the cuff quite hard core, but the pearl adds a little chic charm. This is the perfect combination and an essential piece to add to my collection.

Favorite Entertainment

This favorite in entertainment is my new fave actress Jennifer Lawrence. She seems like she is just so much fun and she is clearly insanely talented. I have only seen her in Hunger Games and Like Crazy, but cannot wait to see Silver Linings Playbook and everything else she is in! Her interviews are so funny as well. YouTube them! She is definitely my new girl crush!

This coat. Need I say more? I love that this coat dresses up the simplest of outfits. The pattern, color, and textures on this jacket are so fun and would work in any season. The tortoise shell sunglasses are the perfect finishing touch. Does anyone know where I could find a similar coat?!

The idea of adding a small rug of some sort underneath the kitchen table is simple, yet has a definite impact. This rug, especially, is so cute! The colors are neutral and the gold is a fun accent. My new mission is to find a similar rug for under our kitchen table since it would match any decor we choose.
