wish list- home decor

As my sister and I get prepared to move out (in 6 months or so... oh well!), I have been coming across so many things that I would love in our new apartment. I need to start keeping track of my wish list items, so I can be sure to snag them when the time comes to actually move out. I will be using sunshine stowaways to keep track of it all. Here are a few things that would definitely spice up any home and are on the top of my wish list!

1. Rippled Dream Bowl from Anthropologie @ $14
2. Feel More Better "Don't Hate on My Happy"Mug from South Moon Under @ $12.50
3. Celebratory Tumbler from Anthropologie @ $8/each
4. Swirled Symmetry Dinnerware from Anthropologie @ $10-$18
5. Zigzag Rug from Urban Outfitters @ $44-$199
6. Stella Floor Lamp from Urban Outfitters @ $79-$129

Disclaimer: This is my first time using Adobe Photoshop, so I am still getting used to it and learning the in's and out's.

outfit post- movie night

((Cope top via Urban Outfitters, Blank NYC high-waisted pants, Urban Outfitters necklace, Nixon watch, Kate Spade cocktail ring, Tiffany & Co. ring, Emi-Jay hair tie, Mia wedges))

These photos were taken when I was about to head out to the movies for a casual date night. I wasn't sure if we would be going out afterwards, so I got dressed up enough for wherever the night took me. Although these pictures were taken in wedges, I did change into a more comfortable pair of flats (seen here) for a more pleasant viewing experience. Although I do love the summer attire, I am excited to start wearing boots and warm, fall clothes as the temperature begins to drop and the leaves begin to fall. (P.S.- these new black skinny jeans are my current favorites- so comfortable!))

stowaways

This is the first time in a while that I actually got the stowaways post out on time. I guess it had to do with the extremely relaxing weekend I had. I hung out with friends and family and made time to go to the movie theatre (saw Hit and Run, which I highly recommend!). Unfortunately, summer is winding down, but I get to spend this next weekend at the beach. I can't wait to share photos from it with you all! Until then, here is what has been making me smile this week. Hope you all had a great weekend!

outfit post- happy hour

((Angie shirt, Express shorts, Nixon watch, Silpada Modern Maze ring, Tiffany & Co. mesh ring, Forever 21 bangle, Mia wedges))

My sister recently told me a good quote about not waiting for the weekend to have fun. I heeded her advice last week and went to happy hour with some friends. I can't remember the last time I went to a happy hour and I most definitely need to make it happen more often. I came home from work and had to quickly come up with an outfit that was dressed up enough for going out with such short notice. I obviously chose my go-to black shorts! I didn't even have time to do my hair, so I had to settle for the worn-in, frizzy look. Oh well... at least it was a fun time!

stowaways

I am getting in a bad habit of posting the stowaways post far into the next week. At that point, I tend to forget what even happened the week before. Short term memory loss already? The weather is starting to cool down a bit and we can't seem to get a sunny day on the weekend. Those only seem to come when I am stuck in the office during the weekdays. I did get some shopping in and my first Birchbox arrived! I am majorly looking forward to the long Labor Day weekend and making my way to the beach in a week or so. Here is what has been happening the past week!

wish list- iphone case

I am currently in the market for a new iPhone case. I have had the same case since I first got my phone and it is now disintegrating and turning an extremely unattractive grey color. I am looking to get a unique and distinct case that is much different than my plain white one I am currently sporting. I have picked five cases that I would buy in a heartbeat to upgrade my phone.

Now that we are almost midway through August, I have been trying to make the most out of the last month or so of the pool being open and the hot weather. I have been indulging in sweets and laying out by the pool all weekend long. Below are a few ways I have been making August a month to remember!

So here's to all those summer nights when my feet hit the sand and the waves break my fall and all my friends around me out number the stars. -Unknown

wish list- shoe mint

In a post a while back, I wrote about my love for Style Mint. I, also, have found an equal adoration for their sister site, Shoe Mint. It is the same concept as Style Mint where it is a members-only site that gets a new collection of shoes each month. The shoes are designed by Rachel Bilson and they are so cute. There are many different designs and types of shoes (most cost $79.98- 1 credit), so there is something for everyone's individual style. Shoe Mint just came out with their August collection and they are some of my favorites so far, so I wanted to share the shoes I am currently craving for the fall!

stowaways

With the traveling and late nights that accompanied last weekend's wedding, I was definitely ready for a relaxing week. Unfortunately, work got in the way. The weekend did eventually roll around and I spent it online shopping and lounging around the house. A great end to the week was when I finally got off of the Birchbox wait list! I will show you all what I get in my first box when it arrives in a few weeks. I can't wait! I am ready to enjoy the last month or so of summer with hopefully another beach trip and a golden tan!

outfit post- wedding weekend

((Silence and Noise top via Urban Outfitters, Ark & Co. skirt via South Moon Under, BCBGeneration heels, Nixon watch, Silpada Modern Maze ring, Tiffany & Co. mesh ring, The Limited bracelet, white bracelet from Peru))

My cousin's wedding in Maine was a more casual, intimate affair, so when I was deciding on what to wear, I knew I didn't have to go as far as black-tie. Up until the day before we left, I was planning on wearing this casual, summer dress. After trying it on again and again, I decided that I no longer liked it yet alone wanted to wear it to the wedding. I threw together a last minute outfit of a silk sleeveless top and a high-low skirt. This outfit suited me so much better and it was the right amount of dressed up wedding attire mixed with the casual vibe of Maine. Plus, I knew no one else would be wearing it since I paired the top and skirt myself!

The only downside was the top and skirt were a bit wrinkled after being stuffed in a duffle bag for traveling.

outfit post- boating blue

((Aryn K blouse via South Moon Under, Express shorts, Gibson blazer via Nordstrom, Lulu's necklace, N.Y.L.A heels, Nixon watch, Tiffany & Co. Mesh ring, Silpada Modern Maze ring))

As part of the wedding festivities last weekend, the wedding guests made their way onto a boat for an evening of cruising the lake and seeing what the little Maine town had to offer. There was no specific dress code, so I wanted to choose an outfit that could be seen as both dressed up or as a more casual look. I believe that silky black shorts were the ticket to accomplish just that. I paired them with a cotton and silk striped shirt and a black blazer for when it got colder.
